How to correctly use the IKEA LAGAN dishwasher

Please, do not use force.
If the door won’t close, the rack won’t slide out, or the tablet dispenser won’t click shut, something is likely misplaced or in the way.
If the dishwasher makes a strange noise, something is also not right — please check it.

Before starting

1. Remove large food scraps from the dishes — ideally, rinse them.
2. Arrange the dishes so that the spray arms can rotate freely.
3. Place plates, mugs, and bowls so that water does not remain inside them.
4. Insert a dishwasher tablet into the dispenser.
5. Close the tablet compartment.

Dishwasher buttons

1 Power button

Turning the dishwasher on and off.

2 Program button

Use this button to select the washing program.
Press repeatedly to switch between programs.

3 Tablet button

Use this if you are using a standard dishwasher tablet.
It helps the dishwasher work correctly with the tablet.

4 Delay button

Used for a delayed start.
It is not necessary for normal use.

5 Display

Shows the time or program settings.

Indicator lights

Show the selected function, warnings, or the chosen program.

Easiest use

1. Load the dishes into the dishwasher.
2. Place the tablet in the compartment.
3. Turn on the dishwasher using the power button.
4. Select the desired program using the program button.
5. If you are using a tablet, you can press the tablet button.
6. Close the dishwasher door — the program will start.

Simplest recommendations for guests / normal use

For normal dishes, use ECO.

For very dirty dishes, use pot / intensive.

For a quick rinse of lightly soiled dishes, use the quick program.

And importantly: after pressing START, close the door within 4 seconds.

Pre-wash

A short rinse without a full wash.
Useful when you want to leave dishes in the dishwasher longer and run the main program later.

After completion

1. Wait a while after the program ends for the dishes to cool down.
2. Open the door carefully — hot steam may escape.
3. If the dishes are still damp, leave the door slightly ajar for a while.
4. Remove the dishes and check if any large food scraps remain in the dishwasher.
